Main Duties and Responsibilities

1/Transportation and Delivery

-Safely operate the truck to transport goods to designated destinations, including local or regional delivery routes.

-Load and unload goods from the truck, ensuring safe handling and securing of materials during transport.

-Ensure that all goods are transported in compliance with company and industry safety standards, minimizing risk of damage during transit.

-Follow prescribed routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries, adjusting for traffic and weather conditions as needed.

2/Vehicle Maintenance and Safety

-Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure it is in good working condition and report any issues or maintenance needs to the Manager.

-Maintain a clean and organized truck and ensure that it complies with safety standards and regulations at all times.

-Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while operating the truck.

-Monitor and manage fuel consumption to optimize costs and efficiency.

3/Documentation and Reporting

-Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts, logs, and maintenance records, accurately and in a timely manner.

-Maintain accurate records of delivery times, mileage, and any incidents or delays encountered during transport.

-Ensure proper documentation is available for verification and tracking of deliveries, including shipping instructions, invoices, and customs paperwork when required.

QUALIFICATION / experiences

– High school diploma or equivalent.

– A valid driving license.

– 2+ years of experience as a truck driver, preferably in logistics or distribution in the FMCG

– Experience operating heavy trucks and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
